His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronised the graduation ceremony of the third batch of students of the Ministry of Interior’s Police College at the Police Training Institute in Al Sailiya on Saturday.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Minister of Interior of the Sultanate of Oman HE Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan HE Sameer Ibrahim Al Mobaideen, and a number of ministers, heads of the diplomatic missions to the state, and high-ranking officers of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the Amiri Guard, the State Security and the Lekhwiya Force.
The national anthem was played at the outset of the ceremony. Then the commander of the graduates’ queue came forward requesting HH the Amir to inspect the queue of the 112 graduates from Qatar, Jordan, Palestine and Yemen.
After reciting verses from the Holy Quran and the performance of the graduates’ parade and the military parade, HH the Amir honoured the seven outstanding graduates.
After that, the third batch handed over the flag to the fourth batch, the appointment order was read out, and the queue of future officers of school students entered. At the end of the ceremony, the officers of third batch took the oath and performed the college anthem.
In an Instagram post, HH the Amir congratulated the new batch of graduates from the Police College. “We congratulate the new batch of our sons, graduates of the Police College, wishing them success in serving our homeland and maintaining its security and stability,” HH the Amir said.
Director-General of the Police College Brigadier Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al Muhana Al Marri delivered a speech on the occasion welcoming HH the Amir and expressing pleasure with HH patronage and honouring of the ceremony which marks the graduation of a new batch of police officers who fulfilled the requirements for a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Police Sciences.
Brigadier Al Marri said the 112 graduates, include 93 Qatari from the MoI and a number of military bodies in the state, and 19 graduates from Jordan, Palestine and Yemen.
He said the Police College’s endeavours, through the continuous development of its academic and training programmes, to achieve its mission of graduating highly-skilled police officers, enabling them to professionally implement security tasks, and to keep pace with the requirements of the times in terms of behaviour and performance, with determination and courage, while adhering to the Arab and Islamic traditions and values, and pride in belonging to the homeland and loyalty to HH the Amir.
Brigadier Al Marri cited the saying of HH the Amir that human development is one of the most important pillars of Qatar’s vision, and the Qatari citizen remains the main focus of concern, by providing the best levels of education that guarantee his advancement and progress. He stressed the Police College’s keenness on providing its students with the latest curricula that keep pace with international standards, including science and knowledge in the policing and legal fields.
