The Embassy of Ukraine in Doha on Monday announced the launch of the official website of Ukraine (https://ukraine.ua) that gives foreign visitors comprehensive guide to tour, invest and study in the country.
The brand new online platform features the best of Ukraine. It includes information on places and cities to visit, investment opportunities, most popular fields of study and educational institutions, among others.
A statement from Ukrainian government shared by the embassy states that the modern digital platform “tells a creative and inspiring story about Ukraine for the foreign visitors”. It also cited that the website gives “first impression about the country” and stressed how the online platform could comfortably showcase the country to visitors and help them decide to discover Ukraine once the global health pandemic is behind us.
In an interview with Qatar Tribune, Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar HE Andrii Kuzmenko stressed the ease in navigating the website with its modern design and how the platform can be beneficial and helpful to foreign visitors in exploring Ukraine for varied purposes.
The envoy said, “It will serve as an appropriate platform which contains very useful and relevant information about Ukraine, its unique destinations, culture, investment and educational opportunities. If someone is interested in exploring Ukraine, this website will be helpful and enjoyable to start the journey.”
Ambassador Kuzmenko pointed out the efforts of the embassy to encourage Qataris and expats from Qatar to visit or study in Ukraine. He said, “First of all, I would like to underline that launch of direct flights between Doha and Kyiv and introduction of visa-free regime of travel between Ukraine and Qatar were decisive steps in this direction. This has made our countries and people much more open and closer to each other.”
He added, “We continue to work tirelessly to promote the brand of Ukraine in Qatar in order to encourage Qataris and residents of the state to visit Ukraine for tourism, business and exploring new promising investment opportunities in our country. I am talking not only about some classic bureaucratic measures, but also about the increasingly involved tools of public diplomacy. Ukraine has a wide variety of opportunities, in particular in the educational sphere.”
The envoy also mentioned the MoU signed between Qatar University and one of Ukraine’s leading higher educational institutions, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, in 2018 as among his country’s landmark collaborations with a Qatari institution. He said cooperation between Qatar and Ukrainian institutions can be very beneficial for both parties and students, who can get new opportunities for education and exchange of experiences.
Similarly, the official expressed optimism for the new year. He remarked, “I hope that this year of 2021 will become very fruitful for us in terms of various events, including those aimed at promotion of opportunities for foreign investors and students.”
