The College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) held an introductory meeting for a new group of students to its winter semester 2021, to help them learn about its laboratories, educational facilities, study programmes and sports and leisure activities.
This year saw an increase of nearly 140 percent in the application rate of Qatari students, after the announcement that the college’s Board of Trustees had agreed to exempt both Qatari citizens and children of Qatari women from payment of tuition fees.
More than 3,629 students joined the college for the winter semester, across different schools from Business Management and Information Technology to Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, Health Sciences and Foundation Programme.
Acting President of CNA-Q Dr Salem Al Naemi welcomed all new and returning students, noting that College of the North Atlantic-Qatar is an excellent choice to follow an applied education and prepare for a successful career.
He expressed his happiness in the increasing number of Qatari students, and hope that the campus life will enable every student to develop not only on the academic level but also on the personal level as well.
The college is following strict preventive measures to protect its students and faculty members from the coronavirus. The college has also launched the student ‘COVID-19 Ambassador Programme’, designed to provide people with proper protocol regarding the virus prevention. The ambassadors will also organise virtual sessions In line with the government’s plan to reduce COVID-19 strictions in phases.
The College is following a blended mode of learning with 50 percent attendance.
