NHRC chief, US officials discuss protection of human rights

Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri on Wednesday held a video conference meeting with US Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour Robert Destro and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour Steven Gillen. Talks during the meeting dealt with a number of human rights issues, aspects of joint cooperation and the ways to improve mechanisms for the promotion and protection of human rights. (QNA)
