The junior market of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is expected to be functional this year, the exchange’s listing director has said.
“The junior bourse will be established soon. We have already got approval for two companies,” QSE Listing Director Abdulaziz Al Emadi told Qatar Tribune on the sidelines of an event to mark the listing of QLM shares on the QSE.
Emadi said that the exchange is also expecting more listings on its main market.
“We are in talks with a number of family-owned companies to get listed on the QSE. We are actively seeking to increase the number of listed companies,” he said.
He said the debut of QLM has again renewed interests in companies seeking listings as well as the initial public offerings.
Emadi said the exchange will provide all necessary facilities to interested companies through one window to facilitate their listings on the stock exchange.
QSE CEO Rashid bin Ali Al Mansoori said that efforts are also going on to list joint-stock companies on QSE this year after they fulfil the legal, regulatory and technical requirements.
