The Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour -- supported by The Social & Sport Contribution Fund – action will return to the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s (QEF) outdoor arena for the exciting eighth round the showjumping leg of which will held over the weekend ((January 15th & 16th) and the dressage on next Saturday (January 23rd).
This the fourth season season of the annual domestic equestrian series launched in 2017. The best seven results of the total twelve rounds are taken into account in deciding overall champions in various categories.
The mandatory veterinary checks for the participating horses in this round will be held on Thursday.
The showjumping competitions will start on Friday with two rounds of the Small Tour 110-115cm class of one round against the clock with a total prize of QR20,000.
This will be followed by the Medium Tour 120-135cm class for teams and individual with a total prize of QR60,000.
Saturday will see the Open Class Mini Derby action (115-125cm) with a prize of QR25,000.
This will be followed by the Big Tour (130-145cm) which carries a prize of QR45,000 besides the valuable points. Nasser Al Ghazali currently leads the points tally with 182 points, followed by Faleh Al Suwaidi (153) and Hamad Nasser Al Qadi (144).
The Medium Tour is led by Cyrine Sherif leads (175 points) while Khalifa Abdullah Al Khaldi tops the Small Tour (177).
Among the teams, the ExxonMobil team leads the ranking with 188 points.
The fourth season of the Longines Hathab championship is being held jointly by the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Al Shaqab (member, Qatar Foundation) and the event is supported by The Social & Sport Contribution Fund and ‘Global Peace’.
