The Qatar Charity (QC) Office in Palestine has provided medical equipment and supplies to the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) organisation in cooperation with the Ministry of Health in Palestine.
The organisation has provided medical and laboratory equipment to the orthopaedic department operated by Doctors Without Borders at the Nasser Medical Complex in the southern Gaza Strip to improve the medical services provided to Palestinian patients.
The project aims to improve the quality of medical and surgical services provided by medical facilities and to reduce pressure on healthcare providers in the Gaza Strip.
The aim of the project is to reduce the cost of health care for Palestinian patients. That is why Qatar Charity is working to promote medical services in the Gaza Strip in the midst of the dire humanitarian conditions that the Palestinian people are experiencing as a result of the serious shortages and economic challenges that health facilities face.
“This negatively affects the health of patients,” said Eng Mohamed Abu Haloob, head of the Qatar Charity Regional Office in the Gaza Strip.
“The medical equipment provided, including beds and laboratory devices, will help dozens of patients” said Frédéric Bownaut, head of the MSF programme in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Dr Abdulatif Al Hajj, director-general of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, praised the cooperation between Qatar and the ministry and continued support for the improvement of the health sector. “Qatar Charity’s health projects, particularly providing laboratory supplies, medicine and protective gear, significantly improve the services provided for patients in such challenging circumstances” he added.
