The Orphan Care Center (DREAMA) launched an awareness campaign under the ‘Right and Duty’ slogan with the support of QTERMINALS to shed light on some of the challenges faced by orphan children and to educate society about their rights and their duty towards them. Through this one-month campaign, DREAMA seeks to reach out to all segments of the society to educate them on the importance of orphan children’s issues in society, such as fostering the natural environment of an orphan child, and on the basis of its importance in educating children naturally, on the basis of solidarity and interdependence between members of society.
In this framework, Noor Al Mohannadi, Director of the Society Awareness Office at the DREAMA Orphan Care Center, explained that the Center is working through this campaign to educate society on the most important issues and challenges facing orphan children and their integration into society, as the centre plays a key role in providing family support and continuous follow-up for orphan children. Launching DREAMA’s “Right and Duty” campaign stems from a deep belief in the importance of integrating DREAMA children into society as a social principle and from the positive role played by fostering families in the fostered child’s upbringing, stability and well-being.
Noor Al Mohannadi said: “Through this campaign, and other similar activities, we seek promoting social integration and empowerment of DREAMA children, raising awareness of social responsibility towards this important category of the society, and working to enhance the society’s view of the orphan child, besides enhancing the center’s efforts to ensure the stability of this group and enhance their self-confidence.” She added that DREAMA appreciates the role of companies and individuals in supporting the most needy social groups, thus fulfilling its moral obligation to carry out social responsibility.
Local laws issued by the state and special international treaties to which the state is party are equally concerned with all children’s rights, such as the right to education, the right to health and the right to life. The State recognises the importance of caring for young people and providing appropriate conditions for the development of their talents in a variety of fields through sound education.
Again, Noor Al Mohannadi emphasised that this campaign contributes to the promotion, encouragement and support of the orphan’s charity and to the consolidation of the principles of rights and equality within society. She said: “We are continually working through public awareness campaigns to spread our awareness messages, whether through direct public campaigns or through social media platforms, which we are currently focusing heavily on taking into account the COVID-19 crisis. We also extend our sincere appreciation to QTERMINALS for their support for the ‘Right and Duty’ campaign.”
In this context, Abdul-Hadi Fahad Al-Hajri - Head of Support Services Sector at QTERMINALS Company said: “We are happy to support DREAMA and support the “Right and Duty” campaign. We believe in DREAMA Center’s mission and vision to serve orphan children and integrate them into society.”
“Within the framework of the company’s society partnership, QTERMINALS will work with DREAMA staff for a whole month to achieve the goals of the campaign out of our belief in the importance of supporting humanitarian work in general, and the children of DREAMA in particular. This expresses social solidarity in order to reach the principles of compassion and cooperation for the interest of the beneficiary groups,” he added.
It should be noted that QTERMINALS specialises in managing and operating ports. It was established in partnership between Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar) and Qatar Navigation Company (Qatar Navigation Company) (Milaha). QTERMINALS is responsible for facilitating the flow of exports and imports of the State of Qatar and its maritime trade in order to stimulate economic growth locally and regionally.
QTERMINALS provides quality services to its customers by supporting high-quality and efficient import and export operations in the State of Qatar, providing container handling, general cargo, livestock and marine support services. QTERMINALS aims to become the best port operator in the region over the next three years in terms of overall service quality and customer satisfaction.
It is worth noting that DREAMA is a pioneering centre for the care and integration of orphans into society, providing the necessary care to target groups, establishing them in alternative foster families and integrating them into society. DREAMA is one of the centres under the umbrella of the Qatar Social Work Foundation.
