The Qatar chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) received the Global Engagement Award at the annual ACS ChemLuminary Awards ceremony for its international efforts and activities.
The Qatar chapter was established in 2018 when it joined 19 other international chapters around the world. The aim of this chapter is to provide chemists and chemical engineers from across Qatar and the region with the opportunity to connect with each other as well as with ACS members worldwide. Chapter Co-Chairs Dr. Hassan S. Bazzi, Associate Dean for research and advancement and Professor of Chemistry at Qatar Foundation Partner Texas A&M University in Qatar, and Dr. Siham Al-Qaradawi, Professor of Organic Chemistry at Qatar University, thanked chapter members and the executive committee for helping to make this chapter a success. The world’s largest scientific society, the vision of ACS is to improve people’s lives by transforming the power of chemistry.
