The plots available for lease at Manateq’s Birkat Al Awamer Logistics Park have generated a huge interest among investors, with 3,800 applications coming in for 787 plots on offer, the company said on Tuesday.
The 25-year-lease scheme was launched in November.
Manatec, a national company working to diversify Qatar’s economy by providing premium infrastructure within strategic zones, said the due to the high demand, a public draw was conducted to find winning applicants among companies with 100% Qatari ownership. The draw was supervised by representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The winning applicants will benefit from a two-year rent exemption starting from January 1, 2021.
“The response to the plot offers has been highly encouraging and underlines the confidence investors have in the future of Manateq and the country’s economic diversification strategy,” Manateq CEO Fahad Rashid Al Kaabi.
The plots are divided into three categories — those spanning up to 1,140 sqms, those ranging from 1,141 to 2,500 sqms and those between 10,601 and 21,000 sqms.
Birkat Al Awamer is one of five logistics projects being developed by Manateq and is designed to appeal to companies wanting to build their own warehouses or workshops, commercial showrooms, offices, and staff accommodation on one
plot.
