In its efforts to maintain exceptional healthcare standards, the Department of Healthcare Professions – Accreditation Section (DHP-AS) of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has agreed with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) on renewal of the Substantial Equivalency of the CME/CPD System until December 2024.
In the same vein, the MoPH and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) have renewed the Substantive Equivalency agreement for five years until December 2025.
The agreements followed a meticulous review and evaluation of DHP-AS’ standards, policies and processes. This shows the quality of these standards and policies, since the agreements are based on professional and not-for-profit assessments.
The extension of the agreement recognises the remarkable collaboration between DHP-AS and the two renowned international organisations. It exhibits DHP-AS’ National Continuing Medical Education/Continuing Professional Development (CME/CPD) System’s commitment to improving the quality of CME/CPD in Qatar and emphasises DHP-AS’s conformity with international standards.
International recognition for DHP-AS’ CME/CPD System is an assurance for the people of Qatar that the healthcare practitioners are constantly required to stay up to date with any advancements in the field of medicine through the highest quality CME/CPD activities, providing the best and safest patient care. The Accreditation Section ensures that CME/CPD consistently promotes superior, high-standard education for healthcare practitioners in Qatar.
