The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced that Qatar Visa Centres abroad will gradually resume work in Nepal, Pakistan and the Philippines.
In a statement, the MoI said that receiving and providing services through Qatar Visa Centres abroad will be gradually resumed, in implementation of the project to capture fingerprints and vital data, conduct medical examinations and sign work contracts outside the country.
The ministry further indicated that the work will begin in the city of Kathmandu’s center in Nepal as of December 10 where the process of booking appointments electronically began last Thursday.
The Islamabad centre in Pakistan will resume work on December 14 where the process of booking appointments electronically began on Monday. And in the city of Manila, the Philippines, the work will begin on December 15 where the process of booking appointments electronically began on Tuesday.
Qatar Visa Centres abroad aim to facilitate and simplify recruitment procedures in general, protect the rights of expatriates, ensure their safety and facilitate all procedures for their entry into the country, as well as inspect and document the process of their employment and accelerate their initiation of work in simplified, smooth and effective procedures.
Last month, the ministry said the QVCs in India would reopen on December 3.
Qatar has seven visa centres in India — in the cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi.
They will facilitate and simplify the recruitment and work visa procedures for Indian expatriates travelling to Qatar for work before their arrival in Qatar.
