A cold spell is set to sweep the country next week with the minimum temperature likely to drop to less than 13 degree Celsius in the southern and outer regions. “The weather maps indicate that the country’s atmosphere will be affected by a cold spell from the beginning of next week with a noticeable drop in temperatures coinciding with the beginning of Almerbania season as a result of fresh to strong northweasterly winds over most areas from Sunday evening until the end of next week,” the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said on Thursday. Cloud cover is expected to gradually increase from the start of next week, increasing chances of scattered rain in some places, it added. (TNN)
