QSindhis, a socio-cultural forum of expatriate Pakistanis hailing from the Sindh province, organised its second blood donation campaign in collaboration with the Blood Donor Centre of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
“The humanitarian drive was held to support Qatar in the current situation where we must prove ourselves as a strong nation and stand shoulder to shoulder with our Qatari brothers,” said Asif Qadir Memon, founder of QSindhis.
Pakistani Ambassador to Qatar HE Syed Ahsan Raza Shah visited the venue and appreciated the community members for taking this humanitarian initiative.
Head of Chancery Sarwar Hussain also attended the event.
“The campaign’s aim was to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation as a humanitarian initiative. In addition to Pakistani community members, people from other nationalities also responded remarkably to the the initiative by QSindhis, which encourages humanitarian activities and social responsibility. Our core committee members are proud to cooperate with the Blood Donor Centre of HMC and we would like to thank all the blood donors who came from all over Qatar to volunteer in the campaign to make it a great success,” said Memon.
Blood donation has invaluable significance during every kind of health crisis – either natural or man-made. Patients have always been in need of blood or blood plasma as they are hospitalised with different kinds of medical conditions. By taking part in a noble cause like blood donation, an individual not only saves someone else’s life but also improves their health as well. It’s a life-saving gift from one person to another irrespective of religion, nationality, or any other social factor, noted Memon.
Memon thanked the volunteers, sponsors and organisers for making the drive successful and distributed appreciation certificates.
