The fourth round of the fourth season of Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour supported by The Social & Sport Contribution Fund will take place at the indoor arena of Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) this weekend (Friday and Saturday) with participation of over 100 riders in various classes of showjumping and dressage next Saturday (Nov 28).
The mandatory veterinary check of all the participating horses was done on Thursday.
The action will kick off at 3pm on Friday with the first two rounds of the Small Tour (100-110cm). The event will carry a total prize purse of QR20,000 besides valuable points.
Hathab is annual domestic equestrian tour consisting of 12 rounds wherein the best seven results of the riders are taken into account in deciding eventual national champions in various categories.
The Small Tour action will be followed by the Medium Tour (120-130cm high barriers) showjumping where the total prize-money will be of QR60,000.
Saturday will see Open class (120-130cm) and Big Tour (130-145cm) action and will also include teams’ competition. The total prize would be of QR25,000 and QR45,000 respectively.
Currently, Nasser Al Ghazali leads the table with 82 points to his credit in the Big Tour class, followed by Saeed Nasser Al Qadi (73).
The Medium Tour is being led by Cyrine Sherif. She has a tally of 75 points.
In the teams’ competition, the Business Trading team leads the rankings with 81 points.
In the Small Tour, Khalifa Abdullah Al Khaldi is on top with 90 points.
In the Future Class category, Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani leads Level 1, while Ken Monty is ahead in Level 2.
Hathab is organised jointly by the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Al Shaqab, member Qatar Foundation and is also backed by ExxonMobil and Peace World.
