Inland Sea beckons on local tourists

Many people who do not know the nature wonders hidden in the Inland Sea or Khor Al-Adaid continue to ask ‘what is so special about the place?’.
However, those who thronged Sealine, the gate way of the world’s most beautiful sand dunes, say the place does not only offer a usual fishing opportunity but provides a thrilling off-road and sand dune drive, overnight stay in winter tents and fishing in shallow water.
As COVID-19 situation makes it difficult to enjoy gathering at some public places, beaches have become favourite destination for many local tourists.
The pleasant winter has also attracted a large number of people to the Inland Sea to enjoy natural beauty of sand dunes and overnight stay packages at desert offered by local tour operators.
Sources at a garage that promotes sand dune driving adventures at Sealine said, “Over 500 vehicles have gone to Inland Sea and sand dunes though our gate in the last one week.”
According to the sources, while family tourists prefer night stay, others enjoy fishing in the Inland Sea shallow waters.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, a member of group that arrived at Inland Sea from Al Khor said, “We have been coming here for last the three weekends. We have caught an average of 15kg of fish on all our trips. It feels thrilling even after many times.”
Considering the flow of tourists to Inland Sea, the local authority has put in place measures to enable people have itch-free experiences, including police patrol and medical assistance at the entrance of desert safari.
“While on fishing, one of our member was slightly irritated by jellyfish. A medical team around the place came to help us with first aid and advised us to contact them or helpline number if the person felt uncomfortable,” an expatriate said.
Inland Sea area is a remarkable landscape formed by a globally unique combination of geological and geomorphological features in the southeastern part of Qatar.
