President of Tunisia Kais Saied visited the Shura Council on Monday.
The Tunisian president was received by Speaker of Shura Council HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, Deputy Speaker of Shura Council HE Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Sulaiti and a number of members of the Council.
During the meeting, the Shura speaker stressed the depth of relations between the two countries and peoples.
He praised the advanced level that the relations between the two countries have reached in various fields thanks to the directives of the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President Saied.
He praised President Saied’s stances towards Arab issues, especially the Palestinian cause, and praised his efforts to bring peace to Libya, preserve its unity and sovereignty, and meet the aspirations of its people.
For his part, the Tunisian president expressed happiness at his visit to the Shura Council and welcomed the Council elections. He affirmed the strength of the relations between the two countries and peoples, as well as the important role of parliaments in unifying positions, bringing countries and peoples closer together, and defending just causes.
