Qatar sends two field hospitals to Lebanon

IN implementation of the directives of His Highness the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar through the Qatar Fund for Development has sent two fully-equipped field hospitals to Lebanon to help the country combat COVID-19 pandemic.
Two aircraft belonging to the Qatari Amiri Air Force carrying two field hospitals arrived at the Rafic Hariri International Airport, Beirut, on Wednesday. The hospitals will be set up in Tyre and Tripoli regions.
The delivery of two field hospitals are part of the $50 million aid Qatar pledged for Lebanon at the donors conference held in Paris in August 2020, following the Beirut port explosion.
It is also part of Qatar’s efforts to support brotherly and friendly countries and help them contain the outbreak of COVID-19.
The two aircraft were received by Minister of Public Health Hamad Hassan, Secretary General of the High Relief Commission Major General Muhammad Khair, Brigadier General Elias Abi Karam representing the Army Command, Acting Chargé d’Affairs at the embassy Ali Muhammad Al Mutawa, Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abeer Al Ali, and a diplomatic delegation.
