Qatar Care and the University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) discussed possible collaboration in training programmes, sharing of expertise and in broadening student engagement.
Qatar Care team led by CEO Abdulrahman Al Majed and Executive Director Saleh Al Eida met with UCQ Dean Dr Deborah White at the university’s campus recently.
Also part of the Qatar Care delegation were Mary Rose Uy (general manager), Rowena Dimpaso (asst. general manager), Peach Dale Esloyo (education and training director) and Dr Alvin B Abainza (R&D, Accreditation and Communications director).
“Having an almost similar year of operation Qatar in mid-2006 and 2007, and having the same complementary vision along with healthcare practice in Qatar, both institutions have thought of collaborating on certain areas that would directly benefit the UCQ students and the Qatar Care,” said an official statement from Qatar Care.
“The collaboration aims to target continuing professional development (CPD) trainings, sharing expertise and experience, broadening of student engagement with real-life work experience and providing a multi-faceted and diverse approach to nursing and healthcare service delivery. Qatar Care with its humble beginning and community-driven mission to provide healthcare services to the community of Qatar feels its alignment with the UCQ strategic plan on developing Qatar’s future human capital that would transform the medical and nursing services in line with Qatar National Vision 2030,” the statement added.
Qatar Care has also initiated talks for CPD collaborations with Institute of Population Health - Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and Department of Human Nutrition at Qatar University’s College of Health Sciences.
