The Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative of the Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, recently held a series of educational and informative workshops. These workshops are part of the Foundation Program developed by the Bedaya Center to address the basic requirements in the field of entrepreneurship in order to support the Center’s efforts to spread the culture of entrepreneurship in the country and to enhance the role of young people in society.
The workshop series were held via the interactive “ZOOM” video communication platform, during which a group of experts explained the procedures to be followed for the development of commercial projects, the use of business models, the preparation of feasibility studies and the importance of marketing via social media platforms, in addition to accounting mechanisms, financial systems for small projects and
At the first workshop, Abdulaziz Nasser, Business Establishment Consultant, provided an in-depth overview of the procedures followed and the requirements that need to be met in order to develop projects, such as the adoption of a specific idea, the knowledge and application of official and governmental requirements. In addition, the preparation of the initial study of the project, the acceptance of official approvals and the collection of commercial registration, the preparation of the visual identity, the search for suppliers and the selection of the location for obtaining a commercial license In addition to the preparation of an action plan for the implementation and management of the project and the recruitment of suitable and trained employees.
In her presentation at the second workshop, Dr. Latifa Aldarwish, a businesswoman and an expert on corporate change and development, highlighted the importance of marketing skills for start-ups through social media platforms for the success of their projects and how to have a comprehensive vision for building a footprint and brand on the Internet. Dr. Latifa Aldarwish also explained to the participants how to make proper planning for the use of social media platforms, in addition to providing the participants with useful steps and ideas for more effective control.
In the third workshop, Salah Jenahi, consultant in the field of setting up and developing companies, discussed the different types of business models, feasibility studies and how to prepare them step-by - step, which entrepreneurs can follow to ensure that they have a clear vision of the requirements needed to ensure the success of their projects, irrespective of their nature.
In the fourth workshop, Mr. Mohamed Fahmy, Development and Training Consultant at Bait al Mashura Finance Consultations, reviewed the finance and accounting foundations of small enterprises and explained that each entrepreneur must be familiar with the basic financial concepts in order to choose the best policy for success in his / her project.
The last workshop presented by Attorney Dr. Mona Al Marzouqi sheds light on the legal landscape in Qatar with regard to the establishment of new businesses, in terms of options, positive and negative aspects and other legal issues that the entrepreneur must be aware of before starting his / her project.
On this occasion, Abdulla Faleh Al Saeed-Member of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Bedaya Center said, “Through the series of workshops on the Foundation Program and with the help of a group of experts, we have been able to address the most important basic concepts in the field of entrepreneurship, so that participants can understand all the relevant procedures before and after setting up their projects and the challenges they would face when starting their businesses.”
“The workshops also provided participants with the opportunity to have a clear vision about the legal requirements needed for the success of their business, which will spare them many problems and save them time and effort, which comes within the center’s development plan, as we always strive to provide Qatari youth with favorable opportunities through the educational and informative programs and workshops which help them to achieve success in the fields they choose,” added Abdulla Faleh Al Saeed.
