With the operation of
Pakistan International Airlines’ Doha-Islamabad service on October 27, the total frequency has reached four weekly flights to Pakistan.
To meet the growing demand of its valued customers, Pakistan’s national carrier has been gradually expanding its operations after the coronavirus pandemic badly hit the global aviation industry.
Like other airlines, the PIA also temporarily suspended its flight operations to and from Qatar in March in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, following the Qatar government’s travel entry ban for different nationalities,
including Pakistan.
The airline later operated special flights to ferry stranded Pakistanis back home when the restrictions were relaxed by the government. Community members in Qatar have praised the PIA management for its support by offering very competitive tariff for the flights operated after the outbreak of the pandemic.
The airline won the hearts of the stranded passengers whose tickets had expired due to their long stay in Pakistan. The airline not only validated their return tickets but also flew them back without any extra charges.
The national carrier operates two weekly flights to Islamabad on Tuesday and
Friday and two weekly flights to Peshawar on Wednesday and Sunday. The flights to Islamabad depart at 09.05 am while the flights to Peshawar leave Hamad International Airport at 9.20 am.
