Al Shaqab Racing’s homebred Aa Naama (FR) (Majd Al Arab) scored her 6th victory to claim the Umm Bab Cup on turf at Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club’s 4th Race Meeting at Al Rayyan Park on Thursday.
Jockey Soufiane Saadi rode the Alban de Mieulle-trained 6YO mare to a 1¼-length win in the mile run for Pure Arabians.
Mohammed Khalid Al Khalifa, QREC Racing Manager, presented the Umm Bab Cup to Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, Al Shaqab Executive Director, after Al Shaqab Racing-owned Al Naama won the feature event, a mile run for Purebred Arabians.
Earlier, Abdulhadi Mana Al Hajri’s Dominus (IRE) (Zoffany) scored his 5th win in a Class 2 Thoroughbred Conditions.
Luca Maniezzi rode the Stefano Ibido-trained 4YO chestnut colt to a 1½-length win in the 7f run.
Al Murtages Racing Syndicate’s Damon Runyon (GB) (Charm Spirit) doubled his tally in a Thoroughbred Novice Plate.
Alberto Sanna rode the Mohammed Hamad Al Attiya-trained 4YO gelding to a 6-length win in the mile run.
A total of eight races were run on the day.
