The Embassy of Paraguay in Qatar recently hosted the first meeting of the Group of Ambassadors of Latin America and the Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was led by the Ambassador of Paraguay and Dean of the group HE ?ngel Barchini.
The meeting was attended by special guests from Qatar Airways, including Fathi Atti, vice-president of Aeropolitical and Government Affairs; Mark Drush, vice-president for Revenue Management and Strategic Partnerships; Thierry Antinori, chief strategy and transformation officer; and Dawn Harrington, administration officer Corporate Planning; as well as the head of mission from Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
The purpose of the meeting was to know about the current situation of Qatar Airways and to discuss the ways to strengthen the bilateral commercial relations with each country and about the reopening of borders in several Latin American
countries.
The group of ambassadors expressed their gratitude to the authorities of Qatar Airways for their decision not to suspend flights to the city of Sao Paulo since the start of the pandemic which helped the repatriation of their
nationals.
