The Cabinet, at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani on Wednesday, approved a draft law on implementation procedures stipulated in the Code of Civil and Commercial Procedure by Law no. 13 of 1990.
The preparation of the draft law comes for the purpose of reorganizing, re-arranging and updating the implementation procedures stipulated in the Code of Civil and Commercial Procedure by Law no. 13 of 1990, in line with the development that the country is witnessing in various fields, as well as benefiting from modern technological means to speed up judicial implementation procedures.
The project is expected to contribute to creating an environment attractive for investment through the speedy implementation of judicial rulings, in addition to contributing to securing the rapid and continuous payment of family expenses and addressing the phenomenon of issuing cheques without balance.
The provisions included in the draft law are related to the establishment of an independent court where implementation shall take place, as well as the availability of multiple options for conservative and executive measures, the facilitation of procedures, the provision of adequate safeguards for or against the executer and others, and the establishment of a fund for court trusts.
The Cabinet reviewed and took decisions on the sixth report on the work of the Coordination Committee between the entities working at Hamad International Airport from April 1 to September 30, 2020.
This Committee, established in the General Authority of Civil Aviation, among other things, is responsible for coordinating work between all the entities working at Hamad International Airport to facilitate the operations and activities of air transport, as well as the movement of aircraft, passengers, goods and mail to and from the state, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and to provide the necessary requirements to facilitate the work of the airport activities.
The Cabinet also reviewed the results of the meeting held on the sidelines of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly on addressing the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on future generations. Following the meeting, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi said the Cabinet discussed all issues on its agenda.
Afterwards, the Cabinet was briefed by Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohamad Al Kuwari on the latest developments in the efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The Cabinet stressed the importance of precautionary measures in combatting the epidemic.
