FILIPINO advocacy group Kaagapay ng Manggagawang Pilipino (KMP), in cooperation with Bayanihan Qatar and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office- Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA), hosted an event titled ‘Training for OFW Career Enhancement Program: Job Hunting Skills’ on Friday.
Around 30 Filipino residents from different organisations under the umbrella of Bayanihan Qatar took part in the event headed by Bernardo Dijamco Jr, president of KMP, with the support of KMP office-bearers and executive committees.
The programme started with an inspirational message from Eng Ressie Fos, Bayanihan ng mga Manggagawa sa Konstruksyon ng Qatar (BMKQ) president, followed by another remarks from Elmer Espiritu, PICPA Qatar advisor. Eng Jerry Ronquillo, Bayanihan Qatar president, also spoke on the occasion.
The programme trainer Alvin Guanzon provided ideas on how to make ‘a solid resume’ and job hunting in Qatar, as well as discussed related topics including how to handle job interviews while Bayanihan Qatar’s Ronquillo discussed the new procedures for change of sponsorship in the country.
