Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari met with Minister of State and Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Guyana George Hallaq and the accompanying delegation at the chamber’s headquarters on Monday.
The meeting discussed informing the Qatari private sector on the available cooperation and investment opportunities in Guyana as well as products that can be exported to Qatar.
Speaking at the meeting, Twar said that Qatar Chamber is ready to extend all support to strengthen cooperation between Qatar and Guyana, particularly in economic and commercial aspects.
He said, “This meeting is a start for a new phase for cooperation between both sides, especially in light of the interest of Qatari businessmen to explore the investment opportunities abroad in line with the state’s economic diversification strategy.”
For his part, Hallaq pointed out that Guyana offers plenty of investment opportunities in a variety of sectors such as infrastructure, energy, tourism, and industry, among others.
HE called on Qatari businessmen and investors to explore these opportunities and participate in various ready-to-invest projects.
Hallaq said that Guyana is looking to enhance economic and trade ties with Qatar and this visit aims to help Qatari business community learn about investment incentives and opportunities in Guyana.
Both parties assured to enhance cooperation between chambers of both countries in a manner that brings together the private sector and companies of both sides and to identify opportunities for cooperation in all areas.
