Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani met with George Hallaq, Minister of State and Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Guyana, on the sidelines of his visit to Doha to discuss ways to develop bilateral relations.
Sheikh Faisal welcomed the guests and expressed hope that their visit to Doha would achieve its goals.
During the meeting, the two parties reviewed the possible investment opportunities, especially with the economic boom that
Guyana is witnessing after the oil exploration and the state’s projects to develop its infrastructure,
electricity sectors and the availability of investment opportunities.
During the meeting, Hallaq spoke about the state’s expectations for doubling of the population in the coming years due to economic growth.
“This requires the Guyana government to search for partners for the development process and its interest in providing the necessary support to investors,” he said.
Hallaq invited Sheikh Faisal to visit Guyana, stressing the importance of the visit in discussing ways of cooperation between the two countries, and working to revitalise economic and trade relations.
