Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani on Thursday inaugurated the Unified Operations Center of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) on Thursday. The centre will monitor ing events, crises and disasters and responding quickly to them in coordination with governmental and non-governmental agencies.
The PM was briefed on the centre’s control room, and reviewed its working mechanism and services it provides.
In a tweet, the PM said, “Today, we inaugurated the Unified Operations Center to monitor crises and disasters and respond to them quickly and efficiently according to the best technologies and modern management strategies. The centre, which responds to the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, represents a qualitative addition to the work of state agencies and ensures that all governmental and non-governmental bodies work in great harmony during emergencies.”
Minister of Municipality and Environment HE Eng Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and several ministry officials attended the inauguration.
The MME said establishing a unified operations center aims to improve the services provided to individuals and society, and to respond faster to emergencies.
Project manager Eng Hamad Ahmed Al Hassan Al Mohannadi said the centre was in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 that aims to establish a modern state.
The project took six months to complete.
He said the centre will focus on managing emergency crises and will ensure work flow is uninterrupted. It will also improve coordination between different sectors and administrations.
