Qatar Charity (QC) distributed food parcels to nearly 11,000 people living in their homes due to the coronavirus pandemic in Palestine.
The distribution, which took place in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, is part of the ongoing efforts of Qatar Charity to provide food and medical assistance to reduce the outbreak of the pandemic in many countries around the world.
Some 1675 underprivileged and home-grown Palestinian families benefited from food baskets distributed in several governorates of the Gaza Strip in Palestine. For a two-week home quarantine period, the baskets will suffice for the family. The beneficiaries were pleased with the food baskets, which, they say, will help to ease the economic burden on them and help them meet the basic needs of their children.
Engineer Muhammad Abu Haloub, director of Qatar Charity’s Gaza Office, said that Qatar Charity was one of the first organisations to extend support to the poor in the face of the spread of the pandemic. He also noted that Qatar Charity continues to work hard to implement more relief projects to help families in need.
In April, Qatar Charity provided medicines, medical supplies and preventive supplies to quarantine centers and hospitals in various Palestinian governorates.
