President Donald Trump will join mourners paying last respects on Thursday to the late Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the White House said, signalling a brief truce ahead of Trump’s controversial push to fill her seat before the election.
Three days of official commemorations of the life of Ginsburg began on Wednesday as the casket of the liberal justice arrived at the US Supreme Court in Washington.
Deputy press secretary Judd Deere said Trump would pay his respects at the US Supreme Court, before Ginsburg’s casket is taken to the US Capitol building to lie officially in state -- the first time the honour has been granted to a woman.
