MANILA: Hundreds of people on Sunday flocked to an artificial white sand beach along Manila Bay in the Philippines, a project that has drawn criticism from environmental and activist groups. The crowd gathered at Roxas Boulevard in Manila City, where a 500-metre stretch of the coastline was covered with 500 tonnes of crushed dolomite as part of a clean-up and beautification project.
