Qatar’s Embassy in Senegal has delivered medical and preventive aid as well as food baskets provided by Qatar Charity (QC) to the country, to assist its efforts to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The ceremony was attended by Director General of the High Authority of Waqf (HAW) of Senegal Halima Gob, a number of Senegalese government officials and Ambassador of Qatar to Senegal HE Mohammed bin Kurdi Talib Al Marri.
Halima Gob thanked Qatar for its humanitarian initiative and confirmed that HAW would continue its coordination and cooperation with QC to achieve partnership with it in all fields.
Al Marri affirmed that Qatar’s aid to Senegal seeks to support its efforts to combat the pandemic.
He said that Qatar has seen, since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, that containing and eliminating the pandemic in the world needs cooperation and solidarity and that countries must support one another financially, morally and humanely.
He reiterated the strength of the bilateral relations between the two countries, and said the aid was a vivid example of the distinctive relations.
