The Maritime Customs Administration at Ruwais Port has foiled an attempt to smuggle 8.4 kg of hashish.
Officials of the Maritime Customs detected the contraband inside a truck’s rear guard rail, which stops cars and bikes from going underneath the truck in an accident. In a tweet on Thursday, Qatar Customs said the hashish was found stuffed inside tube-shaped casings hidden inside the hollow guard rail.
In total, nine packages of hashish weighing 8.4 kg were recovered from the casings, the tweet said. (TNN)
