The Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) celebrated the 160th birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Vishweshwarayya on September 15.
The programme started with the recollection of a notable quote of Sir MV: “It is better to work and wear out, rather than rust and perish”.
Engineer Munera Fahad Al Dosari, chief strategy officer at Ooredoo Qatar, was the chief guest at the programme. Technical presentations were given by Ramesh, senior electrical engineer at QCHEM Mesaieed, Hanumesh Siddegowda and Kumaraswamy.
KSQ has been felicitating engineers of Indian origin with the distinguished ‘Abhiyantarashri’ award since its inception. This year, the award was conferred on Indian expatriates for their contribution to the development of the society and humanitarian services. The recipients of the award were Hemachandran, senior general manager, Infrastructure, Galfar Al Misnad, a native of Andhra Pradesh, and Mahesh Gowda, vice president of ICBF, hailing from Karnataka.
The felicitation ceremony was held at the Kanjani Hall at the Integrated Indian Community center (IICC) in the presence of KSQ President Nagesh Rao, Veerabhadrappa Mannangi, Deepak Shetty, Venkat Rao, Madhu Krishnamurthy, Venkat Rao, Arun Kumar and ICBF Joint Secretary Subramanya Hebbagelu.
The vote of thanks was proposed by the Cultural Secretary of KSQ Akshaya Shetty.
