QATAR Museums (QM) has launched the Remote and Regular Internship Programme, spearheaded by the Learning and Development Section of its Human Capital Department. The programme will support university students, recent graduates and talented and aspiring members of the community who are looking for suitable work placement opportunities.
The programme will positively influence interns’ employment prospects; enhance their skills in line with organisational and market needs; improve self-discipline and allow them to adapt to the remote working settings while having the opportunity to network and build connections.
Abdullatif Mohammmed Al Jasmi, acting director of Human Capital & director of Cultural Heritage Protection at Qatar Museums, said: “Many companies have shifted their focus to mitigate the financial impacts caused by the pandemic, and that left students and graduates with limited options to acquire new skills needed to advance their careers. This internship programme is designed specifically to build local capacity and support diverse participants to acquire those skills to be in a position to make informed career choices. While we all work together to tackle the current crisis, we are pleased to continue supporting the community through our cultural education initiatives while promoting sustainable growth in Qatar.”
In the course of the programme, interns will be introduced to the world of arts and culture, with opportunities to work on numerous live projects and assignments with set deadlines. Interns will also have access to regular support from colleagues and/or managers via remote working systems, group emails and calls, and coffee-and-learn sessions to ensure that they feel part of a supportive team.
The Remote and Regular Internship Programme will run for periods of 3, 6 and 12 months and interns have the flexibility to either work in a regular or remote setting, depending on operational requirements and interns’ needs.
University students, fresh graduates and members of the community who are 18 years of age and older are encouraged to apply for the programme. For more details and to apply, visit https://www.qm.org.qa/en/internship-program
