THE Cultural Village Foundation ‘Katara’, in cooperation with the Turkish Cultural Center ‘Yunus Emre’, has launched a new virtual exhibition titled ‘Beautiful Calligraphy’.
The exhibition features selected works of the leading Turkish calligraphers highlighting the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy. The exhibition is part of a series of virtual exhibitions by Katara.
The Turkish calligraphers whose works have been displayed at the exhibition include Hussein Oksuz, Sami Nadda, Abd al-Rahman Dobler, Sayed Ahmad Dobler, Abd al-Rahim Kahya, Sarqan Sail al-Maz.
The calligraphic works on display include classical letters of various kinds, such as Thuluth, Farisi, Kufi and Diwani.
The works are a unique and colouful blend of traditional Arabic calligraphy and contemporary art.
Katara has launched the series of virtual exhibitions through its social media accounts as part of its continuous initiatives to contribute to enriching the fine art scene in Qatar amid corinavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
