Joaan Bin Jassim Joint Command and Staff College opened the National Defence Course No. 1 in the presence of Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces HE Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem on Monday.
The 43-day course will be attended by senior staff of the various state ministries, institutions and security agencies and senior officers of the Armed Forces. The course will give the participants a Master’s Degree in Defence and Security Studies.
Speaking on the occasion, Commander of Joaan Bin Jassim Joint Command and Staff College Major-General Fahad Mubarak Al Khayareen stressed the importance of the National Defence Course as it qualifies civil and military intellectual and leadership elites. It provides them with a strategic vision capable of studying strategic environment variables and employing the various elements of the state’s power in building national policies and strategies, in order to protect the national interests, he added.
