THE Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI), represented by the School of Public Administration and Development Economics (SPADE), welcomed newly admitted students of the Executive Master of Public Administration Programme (EMPA) for the year 2020-2021 during a remote orientation meeting.
The event was attended by Dr Hend Al Muftah, vice-president of Administration and Finance; Dr Hamid Ali, dean of the School of Public Administration and Development Economics; and faculty members of the programme.
Dr Hend said that this programme is an excellent opportunity to create an academic awareness to combine academic and professionalism in order to achieve Qatar’s vision, stressing that SPADE has recently received US-based Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) accreditation, which is the most prominent achievement of Doha Institute within its plan for international recognition from international bodies and institutions.
Welcoming the 20 new students, Dr Hamid said the success of the programme during the previous four cohorts is the evidence of the quality of the scientific and academic research in the fields of public administration and business administration.
Dr Hamid also highlighted the school’s efforts to secure a better communication channels between faculty members and students during these challenging times, introducing them to the services provided by the institute and explaining the way to add courses for the fall of 2020.
In a statement, Alumni Abdulaziz Al Majali, general director of the Institute of Public Administration at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, said: “The programme is designed to help students combine theory and practice in Qatari work environments. The exams and research works allow students to have a deeper understanding of the latest developments at the administrative and executive levels in institutions both locally and globally.
The Executive Master of Public Administration Program track is designed to be finished in 21 months.
