The Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, in cooperation with the Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), has provided the health sector in Gaza with an advanced device for testing samples for coronavirus (COVID-19).
Chairman of the committee Ambassador HE Mohammed Al Emadi said the device -- introduced for the first time in the Gaza Strip -- along with about 20,000 swabs for examining citizens, was provided at a total cost of about $150,000.
The new device will contribute significantly to solving the crisis of the accumulated check-ups at the Ministry of Health in Gaza, he said, adding that it was provided in response to repeated requests by the ministry.
Qatar will continue to offer all support to the residents of Gaza, Emadi said, calling on the international community to provide the necessary aid to the Strip to face the
humanitarian crises it has been experiencing.
