Al Dosari Park & Nature Reserve reopens with additional attractions Sep 01, 2020 0 2038 12345 Santhosh ChandranDohaThe Al Dosari Park & Nature Reserve in Al Shahaniya has reopened for public after four months of lockdown amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The park has undergone a makeover during the lockdown and offers wide lush green areas and renovated museums with additional pieces of arts and crafts. Speaking to Qatar Tribune Mohamed Aldosari, the director of the park, said, “We have used the lockdown period to expand the park. Now, the park can accommodate more people with an expanded lawn. The pedestrian path has been decorated with flower beds. We have also deployed trained employees to ensure compliance with the COVID-19 protocol.” The park is open from 7am to 7pm for the public. Opening of new roads and flyovers has made the park more attractive and easier to access for people. Aldosari said that the night-stay cottages at the park are likely to be opened for visitors by the end of September. The cottages located close to the animal safari park make it an ideal tourist destination for all seasons. The cottages offer visitors the real experience of a nature reserve in a desert. “The Winter Festival scheduled for the months of November and December is expected to attract large number of visitors. The festival will feature an array of programmes reflecting the cultural traditions of different nationalities.”The Al Dosari Park & Nature Reserve, which is visited by over 150,000 people annually, also features an animal safari park, a zoo, an amusement park as well as heritage and maritime museums. In addition, the visitors are offered animal ride around the Park.The animal safari park, which is spread over more than 10 acres of land, features a wide variety of animals including among others different kinds of oryx, as well as trees and water bodies.
