Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Syed Ahsan Raza Shah attended the ceremony as the chief guest. The other prominent personalities present on the occasion were Salman Ali, Pakistan Embassy Commercial Secretary; Abdul Rahman Mohammad M Al-Muftah, Chairman Unique Trading Co; Imran Rafique, General Manager Unique Trading Co; and Abdul Ahad Khan, Sales Manager Unique Trading Co.
Prominent among those who attended the event were Fawad Rana, Saeed Gul, Rasheed Khan, Obaid Rahman, Chaudhary Mazhar Hussain, Usman Idrees, Riyaz Ahmed Bakali and Malik Nadeem.
The chief guest, along with the chairman of Unique Trading Co, cut a ribbon to formally launch the showroom. The organisers and guests also cut a cake to mark the strong economic bonds that exist between Qatar and Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, the Pakistan ambassador said: “I am delighted to be a part of the opening ceremony of the second exclusive showroom of Brighto Paints in Qatar.”
The ambassador expressed his gratitude to Unique Trading Company Chairman Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Muftah and General Manager Imran Rafique for promoting Pakistani products in Qatar.
The ambassador shared his personal experience when he visited Pakistan last year where he wanted to purchase paint for personal use. He said he had a pleasant surprise to see a photo hanging on the wall of the showroom in which he was pictured opening the first showroom of Brighto Paints in Qatar. “This proved the importance the company was attaching to business relations between Qatar and Pakistan,” he noted.
The ambassador said he looked forward to further expansion of Brighto Paints’ business in Qatar.
He noted that Pakistan and Qatar have historically enjoyed very close bilateral relations based on shared history, culture and heritage though these relations were not reflected in the same way in business ties until recent past. Things have changed recently, he observed, noting a significant growth in business volume between Pakistan and Qatar.
Al-Muftah, in his speech, praised the brotherly ties between Pakistan and Qatar and appreciated the quality of products prepared by Brighto Paints. Describing his two visits to Pakistan and Brighto Paints factory, he expressed his full confidence in the wide range of products. He said when he visited their factory in Pakistan, he was very impressed with their professionalism as they followed strict international standards. “It was amazing to see the way the company was doing research and development to improve the standards of its projects,” he said.
Pakistan, he said, is a beautiful country with friendly people. He thanked the members of Pakistani and Qatari business communities for attending the inauguration ceremony.
Earlier, in his welcome address, General Manager Imran Rafique shared the two-year journey of Brighto Paints in Qatar -- since 2018. A short video was shown on the occasion which started with Rafique’s and Al Muftah’s meeting with National Sales Manager Mohammed Aqil and Export Manager of Brighto Paints Muhammad Bilal in Qatar.
He also shared memories of the two visits made by him along with Al Muftah to Pakistan. Officials of Brighto Paints accorded a warm welcome to them upon their arrival in Pakistan and arranged their visits to the capital Islamabad and mountain resort town of Murree.
During the visit, Al Muftah also inaugurated Brighto Paints’ chemical plant in Pakistan’s industrial city Faisalabad.
During their visit to Pakistan, they met with Chairman of Brighto Paints Khawaja Ejaz Ahmed Sikka, Managing Director Khawaja Khurram Shahzad Sikka, Director Sales Khawaja Atif Sikka and Director Marketing Khawaja Zain Ejaz Sikka.
Rafique said Unique Trading has also started its operations in Pakistan by inaugurating its showroom in Jhelum city in March 2020. Besides Jhelum, Brighto Paints will be distributed in the neighbouring districts. Giving details of the ongoing and completed projects in Qatar, he said: “So far, we have completed 73 projects in Qatar including the new building of Pakistan embassy.”
