The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) organised two orientation events for CPD providers in Qatar through Microsoft Teams. The first orientation of the Activity-Based Accreditation System was aimed at non-accredited CPD providers in the State of Qatar and was attended by CME/CPD programme coordinators from different healthcare institutions in the State.
The presentation detailed the activity-based accreditation process, followed by an intensive discussion and Questions and Answers session as part of the National Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development Accreditation System. The session highlighted the online delivery of activities in line with the new global trends called for by the ongoing pandemic and the collection of restrictions imposed.
The second event, CPD Provider Accreditation Orientation, aimed at detailing the standards and processes for the accreditation of CPD providers, application review, decision-making, audit, live audit and appeal processes in a very interactive discussion.
The two workshops are part of the efforts of the Health Profession Department at MOPH to raise the level of health services in the country by providing accredited continuous professional development activities so that licensed health professionals in the State of Qatar can improve their skills and professional knowledge in order to keep up with all new developments in the health sector, in addition to meeting the requirements of renewal of a license to practice the profession for health practitioners.
