Kingsholm (Tagula x Fixed Gaze) was the easy winner of a 1,200-metre handicap for three-year-olds at Wolverhampton, UK, on Wednesday evening.
The bay gelding runs in the colours of Qatar Racing Limited, who own the colt in partnership with
D. Howden and David Redvers, racing manager of HE Sheikh Fahad bin
Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani’s Qatar Racing Limited.
This was a first win for Kingsholm, who was having just his fourth start in this contest, and his first run in a handicap.
Ridden by Oisin Murphy, who celebrated a treble on the night, James Fanshawe’s trainee sat with cover in the turn just behind the two leaders.
The three of them pulled clear of the rest of the field, but in the straight Kingsholm was clearly superior, accelerating past his rivals to win by two and three-quarter lengths.
