The Qatari Forum for Authors broadcasts the first session of the “I Choose For You From Qatar National Library (QNL)” initiative, which was launched in cooperation with the library as part of its efforts to strengthen relations with various bodies working in the field of culture, to serve authors and to present their literary works.
The session shed light on the novel “Started Coincidentally, Ended Forever” by author Mariam Al Ansari and was broadcast on the YouTube channel of the forum.
The first session was presented Wednesday by Eman Al Shammari, an information librarian at QNL, who confirmed that she had chosen to discuss this novel, considering that it was one of the best-sellers at the 2019 International Book Fair in Kuwait, and stressed that Al Ansari is considered one of the most important young authors who have taken an interest in highlighting the national identity through their wows.
Al Shammari explained that the novel contained a great deal of dialog between the main character and the other characters, all of whom were in the Qatari colloquial dialect, which she believed had reinforced the Qatari identity.
The sessions of “I Choose For You From QNL” will continue over the next three weeks, as on August 19, the session will discuss the novel “Mayhood and Genius” by Dr. Ahmed Abdul Malik, and the following session will discuss “Arabian Nights and Days” by Naguib Mahfouz on August 26, the anniversary of his death, while the following session will present an overview of the novel “Crime Punishment” by the remarkable Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
