THE Bangladesh Forum Qatar (BFQ) recently held a reception at Sheraton Hotel Doha to bid farewell to Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar HE Ashud Ahmed.
The attendance at the event was restricted to senior officials of the Bangladesh Embassy and a limited number of BFQ members due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. During the reception, mementos were presented by BFQ to the ambassador and his wife.
The reception was conducted by Eng Tasmia Priyanka. BFQ President Rashed Noman, former president Iftekhar Ahmed and several other senior members spoke highly of the enormous support and contribution of the ambassador towards the formation of BFQ. The speakers recalled that the ambassador actively supported and took part in the events of the forum, highlighting his participation in the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ event which was attended by many dignitaries from Qatar and Bangladesh.
The ambassador praised the activities being held by the forum, encouraging its members to continue activities to enhance the image of Bangladeshi community in Qatar and build a closer relationship with the Qatari community to strengthen social, cultural and commercial ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Ashud Ahmed is expected to leave Doha by the end of August to take up a new assignment as Bangladesh Ambassador to Greece, concurrently with two other European countries. The ambassador and his wife later joined the BFQ members for a lunch arranged in their honour.
