During Eid Al-Adha, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) continued to fulfill its medical mandate for the public, with a medical staff of 639 doctors, nurses, technicians, first responders and ambulance drivers.
During the period from July 29 to August 8, 2020, the Workers’ Health Centers provided services to as many as 28,416 patients in different specialisations.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), QRCS operates four Workers Health Centers in Mesaimeer, Fereej Abdul-Aziz, Al-Hemailah and Zekreet.
These health facilities provide services to general and specialized clinics, dental clinics, surgeries, dressing and minor surgeries, x-rays and ultrasound, medical laboratories and pharmacies.
The emergency medical services of QRCS operate a fleet of 46 fully equipped ambulance vehicles, run by highly trained paramedics and drivers. They transport injuries to the various departments of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and provide medical coverage for sports and public events.
The majority of cases received by health facilities during the reporting period were fever and flu, totalling 3,252 patients: Al-Hemailah (1,878), Mesaimeer (736), Fereej Abdul-Aziz (616) and Zekreet (22).
Other cases totalled 17,684, of which 6,916 were received at the Al-Hemailah Health Centre, 5,146 at the Mesaimeer Health Centre, 5,223 at the Fereej Abdul-Aziz Health Centre, and 399 at the Zekreet Health Centre.
