WASHINGTON: The bodies of seven US marines and one soldier missing for more than a week have been recovered off the coast of California, the US Marine Corps said in a statement on Friday.
The remains are to be handed over to their families shortly, the statement read.
A total of 16 Marine Corps and Navy soldiers were onboard an amphibious assault vehicle off the coast of San Clemente Island, on July 30 when water seeped into the interior and the vehicle sank. (DPA)
