QATAR Charity’s (QC) ‘Udhiyah’ (sacrificial animals) campaign has benefited more than 1.7 million people worldwide, especially in crisis and coronavirus-hit regions.
Some 50,847 animals were sacrificed in 32 countries across Asia, Africa and Europe, benefiting orphans, poor families, the sick, and persons with special needs sponsored by Qatar Charity, as well as the poor, displaced, refugees and those affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, at a total cost of more than QR24 million.
Faisal Rashid Al-Fahida, assistant CEO for International Operations and Partnerships Sector at Qatar Charity, thanked donors for their generous contributions to the ‘Udhiyah’ campaign for the year 1441 AH, urging them to continue extending their support to Qatar Charity’s relief and development projects and campaigns, which are carried out throughout the year.
Qatar Charity, with the generous support of donors from the State of Qatar, has implemented the Udhiyah projects in Albania,
Ethiopia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Senegal, the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Gambia,
Yemen, Ghana, Palestine, Kosovo, Lebanon, Nepal, Indonesia, Nigeria,
Sudan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Chad, Jordan, Benin, Burkina Faso, Turkey, Togo, Tunisia, Montenegro, and Somalia, in addition to
Qatar.
