Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) said on Thursday that it registered QR600 million treasury bills (T-bill) issued by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) in July.
QCSD registered 30,000 three-month treasuries at a total value of QR300 million. The bills maturity date is October 6, 2020. It registered 20,000 six months treasuries that mature on January 5, 2021, with a total value of QR 200 million. It also registered 10,000 issues of the nine-month treasury expiring on April 6, 2021, at a total value of QR100 million.
This came in the monthly report issued by QCSD that included the QCSD’s most prominent achievements during July, most of which are in the safekeeping, registration, management, ownership, clearing, settlement of securities and their derivatives, other financial instruments, and the provision of related financial services.
It also added transferring ownership of contracts executed through trading and transfers such as family and heritage transfers, implementation of all mortgage and decommissioning and foreclosure operations at the request of the relevant parties.
A number of shareholders’ data have been updated and new shareholders were added.
In its monthly report, the QCSD called on the shareholders to update their data in the company and add the ‘IBAN’ bank account to receive cash dividends so that they are transferred directly to these accounts. In its monthly report, the company provided figures and statistics showing the main activities that were carried out, as 203,745 transfers of ownership were carried out through the hall, and in the third market ownership transfers, 286 family transfers were made in July and 516 inherited transfers.
The total number of shareholders registered by QCSD reached 386,945, while shareholders with bank accounts were 57,364.
In July, 46 mortgages and 361 mortgage closures were recorded, while 192 new account opening transactions were registered and 6,358 account statements were issued.
Regarding the number of shareholders who own shares on the system according to nationality (Qatari and non-Qatari) and the type of shareholder (individuals and institutions), the number of shareholders of Qatari individuals in July 2020 reached 229,897 individual shareholders, while the number of shareholders from Qatari institutions in the same month reached 1,514 institutions.
As for non-Qatari individuals, there were 154,480 shareholders, and 1,054 from non-Qatari institutions.
