Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), in partnership with United Development Company (UDC), will bring together leading Qatari designers and luxury fashion brands for the country’s first virtual fashion show. The show is expected to inspire audiences with stunning original designs from Qatar-based designers and leading retail stores while delivering an unforgettable experience to viewers from the comfort of their homes.
To be staged at The Pearl-Qatar, one of the country’s most iconoic locations, the virtual fashion show will be broadcast live from QNTC social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Live on Thursday, August 6, at 9 pm.
It will highlight the original creations of five brands –The Project, Per Lei Couture, Ashwa Fashion and Youssef Al Jasmi – in the ready-to-wear, menswear and eveningwear categories, along with the abaya brand Shades.
Jawaher Al Khuzaei, Director of Public Relations and Communication at QNTC, said, “We are pleased to introduce this innovative concept to Qatar’s summer calendar this year. Developing such offerings is part of QNTC’s wider strategy to work with stakeholders across the private and public sectors and bring residents a host of exciting events which promote Qatar as a destination that embraces modernity while remaining rooted in tradition.”
With its architecturally distinct precincts, The Pearl-Qatar is home to luxury brands, diverse leisure and entertainment facilities, an award-winning marina, pristine beaches, and a selection of world-class restaurants and high-end retail shops.
The fashion show is part of the Qatar Summer Programme, a vibrant line-up of offers brought out by QNTC for residents to enjoy during the summer holidays.
The show will incorporate the latest in virtual technology, giving viewers the feel of a live experience, and will reflect the wealth of creativity Qatar has to offer.
It complements QNTC’s continuous efforts to support the burgeoning fashion industry in Qatar through events such as the Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition, and Design District at Shop Qatar.
The Qatar Summer Programme is organised in collaboration with QNTC’s partners from across the public and private sectors. It brings residents a wide range of hospitality deals at more than 40 establishments across the country, including discounts of up to 50 percent on room bookings, as well as promotions on cultural activities and outdoor adventures such as kayaking, fishing and desert safaris.
Through fruitful collaboration with its stakeholders, QNTC is developing attractive promotions and activations to strengthen the tourism industry and ancillary sectors such as retail, culture and hospitality, working to deliver a robust calendar of events throughout the year that reinforce Qatar’s position as a preferred tourist destination for families.
